June 8, NPF Games on Internet TV, and Glory Replacement Team Website Now Up

The USSSA Pride is the team which took over the contracts from the Glory franchise. The now have a website. It's obvious from their ticket prices that they learned nothing from the over-priced Glory tickets which were partly responsible for the team's demise. 15 bucks! The roster shows a... [More]

May 8, Glory and/or Glory Owner File for Bankruptcy

I just got this notice in the mail, addressed to Glory Season Ticket Holders. It lists the debtors names as Paul and Kathleen Wilson. No company name given, so perhaps it's a personal bankruptcy, rather than a Glory team bankruptcy.I have no idea what I'm supposed to do next. There is a meeti... [More]

May 8, League Still in Denial About Glory Demise

In addition to the complete lack of information from the league, we now have another piece of evidence. The Rockford Thunder just posted a news item announcing the availability of single game tickets. They are still expecting our already-folded-team to arrive for a 5-game series on June 17th. And th... April 24, Glory Rumors

Unofficially, based on conversations I have heard about with a couple of players...The league has basically given up on finding a local owner, at least for this year, and the only remaining options are to continue as a traveling team, or to not have a team this season. Also, the league is still not ... [More]

April 17, Spy Softball posts story about NPF plans for Glory franchise.

Thanks to Charlie for bringing this info to our attention. Here's the link, which works as of this posting. To summarize, the team is owned by the league, the players are still under contract, and the league is trying to salvage the season. One option is to find another local own... [More]

March 18, Glory Adds Olympian Caitlin Lowe

So, there was a method to their madness all along! I expressed concern and confusion when the team traded away the rights to Kaitlin Cochran last month, but it all makes sense now. The Glory outfield will now be two-thirds Silver Medal winners, as Kelly Kretschman returns to the team, like... March 18, Report on the new Facility at GMU

One of my faithful readers recently attended a George Mason softball game at the new facility, and sent along her thoughts. (Thanks!) I thought others might be interested, so here they are:   It's nice in many respects but doesn't offer much seating.  There is bleacher seating righ... [More]

March 11, New GMU Facility: Seating not as Good as Previous Years for Season Ticket Holders

For the past 2 seasons, there were several benefits to being a season ticket holder:1) Primo seats, with seat-backs and arm rests.2) Assigned seating, so we didn't have to get there super early just to get a good spot.3) A discount on prices, as compared to buying each game separately.I am very ... March 11, New Glory Website Goes Live

About a week ago, the new WashingtonGlory.com went live. It is still incomplete, but it is already a huge improvement over the previous one. I like the blogs, and I hope they get updated regularly. The FanZone is kinda empty. I could find no message board, but the Community section is still missing,... [More]
